According to an article in Customer Relationship Management magazine, the number of member recommendations on LinkedIn surged 14 percent between September and January.

I know that a lot of my friends who worked for large companies that were going through layoffs were showing up and networking on LinkedIn. While bad news is driving people to LinkedIn, I think they will continue to hang out there and attract others to the community as things improve.
